Job Title: School Counsellor
Location: Lekki, Victoria Island - Lagos
Key Responsibilities
Individual Counseling:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address personal, social, and academic concerns.
- Provide support for students experiencing emotional challenges, behavioral issues, or personal crises.
Group Counseling:
- Facilitate group counseling sessions to address common concerns or themes among students.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify and support groups of students with similar needs.
Crisis Intervention:
- Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing immediate support and coordinating with appropriate authorities.
- Develop crisis intervention plans and collaborate with the school's emergency response team.
Academic Advising:
- Assist students in academic planning, course selection, and setting educational goals.
- Work closely with teachers and parents to identify and address academic challenges.
College and Career Counseling:
- Provide guidance on college and career exploration, including college admissions processes, scholarships, and vocational opportunities.
- Organize and conduct college and career fairs, workshops, and information sessions.
Parent and Teacher Collaboration:
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and teachers to address students' holistic development.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and provide insights on students' social and emotional well-being.
Preventive Programs:
- Develop and implement preventive programs related to substance abuse, bullying, and mental health.
- Conduct workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and resilience.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions.
- Provide regular reports to school administrators and participate in case conferences as needed.
Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 3 years work experience.
