We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Mining Operator
Location: Jos, Plateau
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Work with the team to develop operations processes to support mine planning, mineral ore quality and grade control programs as well as production forecasting
- Proper mixing of materials.
- Processing, sampling, weighing, bagging of mineral ore according to company procedure.
- Ensure good storage of mineral ore and proper recording keeping.
- Organizing warehouse, label goods.
- Ensuring all operations adhere to the company procedures, country laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc. in Mining Engineering, Geology or equivalent preferred but not necessary
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of the mining industry and knowledge of minerals like Columbite, Tantalite, Wolframite, Lithium, etc. are necessary.
- The ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization.
- Strong commitment to safety and improvement mindset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work well under pressure during high (peak) workloads and balancing conflicting demands of high volume versus the quality of results.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other Site locations or client location may be required from time to
